Aspie on the Run

runs

I am running late again. It is 1:58 p.m. and my appointment is in two minutes. I can’t stop throwing up and my mom keeps telling me to hurry up so I won’t be late. The quinine from the plaquenil that I take every day is extremely bitter and the new medicine I am on makes me nauseous. This is not a pleasant combination. The new medicine is supposed to treat nausea, yet one of the side effects is nausea. For the first month I can expect to throw up frequently from the medicine. My counselor, Andy, refuses to admit that I have physical problems beyond what he is treating me for. In his mind, Lupus doesn’t exist even with medical documentation. He thinks that this war I fight everyday is in my head only.

Hi! my name is Alyssa, and here's my blurb about my pieces (Yes, I drew them and scanned them, you can find them on Because PATTERNS because that's mine, as is Yes, That Too- I generally do not put my last name on my autism stuff, so if I can just be Alyssa that would be great, thanks.) I draw geometric designs- I've been doing this since the seventh grade, and in the last year or so I took people up on the suggestion that I try to sell things with my designs- that's how Because PATTERNS was born.

A Relationship Blog

So as you may, or may not know, I'm engaged. so I thought I would do a post about it. I met him about 7 or 8 years ago when we were 12 or 13; a mutual friend introduced us online and we spoke for a while before meeting up. We were both really shy and barely spoke in real life! We had mutual interests and hobbies so we did have things to talk about, we just...didn't! One of the times I remember most was recording a song together: Going Under by Evanescence. We put it on YouTube but later took it down due to my eventual embarrassment!
